Not unless we were 'programmed' not to find it. Observe the shifts that take place... they have access to our minds.
Normally, a fully trained, healthy, adult Vulcan has no issues protecting his mind from outward sources...
Yet... They have done so. It may be a 'difficult' theory... however, it is plausible and should not be ruled out.
